Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 346

Far from the Festival hurly burly today. This view of the city and the (very far) western end of Portobello Beach was taken in Aberdour in Fife. We walked from Aberdour to Queensferry along the Fife Coastal trail and enjoyed the stunning views of the city skyline from across the Firth of Forth or as many Edinburghers prefer to call it here, The River. . The Forth was dead calm again today despite the westerly breeze. We only had a few spots of rain on the the whole walk although it looked cloudier at times across the capital. Some Festival blips I have seen are draped in rain ponchos and umbrellas in confirmation of this. I particular enjoyed the part of the walk that skirts the old ship breaking yard at Inverkeithing. The crushed cars, bicycles and other metal goods have replaced the broken ships but now go into a waiting ship to travel to Spain for recycling.
