But, then again . . . . .

From the Border Crossing.

I travelled up to the start of the 24 hour race today, dropping Mrs TD off at her sister's on the way. Set up camp in Farndon and then went to Hildegard's cafe in Holt for afternoon tea. Hildegard is a lovely German lady whose body mass index suggests that she is an excellent cook, which she is, but that she doesn't go too far overboard with the "chef's perks".
The two villages of Farndon and Holt are a single bifurcated entity, Farndon being on the English side of the River Dee and the border with Holt being on the other. The River Dee bridge, from which this blip was blipped was built in 1339 and is a grade one listed building. Now that I know that I shall have to blip the bridge itself when I visit next year.

The long spell of hot dry weather does not bode well for tomorrow's race, I'm due to start just after 1:00 pm so will be riding through the hottest part of the day.
