Monday ~ Bat

Mum & dad are always awake early (very) and had a little wander around the estate.  Once I was dressed we ventured in the walled garden of the Manor House where we also came across a swimming pool and tennis court.

Late morning we headed over to see Josh & Natalie so mum and dad could see their new house and how their renovation is progressing.  We had lunch with them and Sim also joined us with the boys so Nat could get on with making a wedding cake.

Whilst there I received a very polite message from the owner of the accommodation asking us not to wander around the gardens as they are strictly private.  Mum was quite upset thinking she had upset the owners.  I was a little peeved.  We are the only ones on the estate at the moment and we wouldn’t have imposed if others were hiring the accommodation we also realise we were not paying for those facilities but we were just nosing around….. we are also not 20 somethings who would run riot on the estate.  On arriving back at the cottage we bumped into her husband and had a chat.  Mum apologised and he told us where we were able to walk…. We chatted about other stuff too.  As this is a back blip I can say I think they realised that my elderly parents and I were not there to take liberties as she messaged several times throughout our stay to make sure all was well and even offered to show mum around the Manor House, unfortunately that didn’t happen as they only could do it on the wedding day.

I took this from the front of the cottage as mum and I were watching bats.  I didn’t realise I had captured a bat flying (blur next to tower) until after.
