This'n'That

The old root cellar

I enjoyed my walk down Xwaaqw'um this morning, 11C and some sunshine. I've taken a photos of the root cellar at different times of year. Built in 1901, it hasn't been used for years. Crops like apples, carrots, turnips, potatoes, and squash were stored in it. I have a good look at it every time I walk by. Thought it would work for the MonoMonday theme of 'The Built Environment' and for Derelict Week.  Thanks to StevenG for hosting MM this week and to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Week.
I did a few chores in the house before spending a couple of hours in the garden. I removed the mulch from the garlic bed and the two pots of blueberry bushes. Everything is looking good.
More exciting news about the eggs in the nest! Renata sent me a photo after she found another one in there, so now there are three! G checked the nest that I'd blipped with a mirror while I was out for my walk, and when I came home, he told me that there are four in it. I had a look with the mirror too. The eggs in both nests are laid by dark-eyed juncos. I disturbed one of the parents but watched from a distance to make sure it returned to the nest
