Little Boat Blue
After my morning medical appointments we had a couple of hours to fill so we wandered around Davis Island, had lunch, then took the long way around (took this at the Seaplane Landing basin) to the transplant clinic for my follow up with the surgeon who did the procedure two weeks ago establishing a fistula in my left forearm in preparation for hemodialysis.
Lots of memories in that place. My original liver transplant was 13 years ago on June 1st.
Post op, my arm looks good and there should be no problems taking off for our cruise on Friday. She was glad to hear I'm having no problems with my left hand fingering the chords on my guitar and ukulele. My levels aren't critical right now (a very good thing) but once the site "cures" in six to eight weeks we'll be ready for when decisions need to be made.
The medication issues that prompted yesterday's call from the doc have been mostly resolved though insurance questions/formulary approval are holding up the changes he wants to see. I won't complain, I'll be covered but it reminds me how lucky I am compared to others.
Back home to finish the packing then driving south to Port Everglades. I'll be out of touch for a while, expect backblips on the other side.
.... and the adventure through the viewfinder continues.
