The longest month
I stopped Blipping for a month and hey presto almost 7 years have gone by just like that!
This is Ziggy, now aged almost 13, and needing a haircut (he's going tomorrow). We had a lovely walk in Langdon Woods which overlook Lyme Bay (just glimpsed in the background) and next to Golden Cap (the highest point on the South West Coast.
Where do I start? Family moved from Taiwan (my son was there for nearly 20 years) a year last August and now live in Bristol.
I'm still living in East Devon but sadly alone. Clive has been in a nearby nursing home for 17 months following a spell in hospital, carers at home, and a couple of care homes that weren't suitable. I visit him most days and it's heartbreaking. He has Alzheimer's and vascular dementia and has has several brain haemorrhages. He's ow curled up in a foetal position and hasn't been able to be moved since last November as it's now impossible to use a hoist with him. I hate to hear comments about poor diet or lack of exercise causing dementia. He's always ate extremely healthily and was physically fitter than many half his age. Luck of the draw and genetics must play a big part.
Anyway, that's basically it. I go to Dancefit clases (what we used to call aerobics) twice a week, stretch class, and swimming. I belong to several local groups and am in the annual local pantomime every year. I also walk with Ziggy for miles in the beautiful Devon countryside (also nearby Dorset and Somerset) and am down at the coast most days.
That's about it. Nearly 7 years in a few paragraphs.
