Excitement
Today I worked through the morning, analysing benchmarking results that exposed (and then fixed) an error in something I coded a couple of days ago, and a bug that occurs when running on a GPU, rather than a CPU. Finally I went into work, eating a Gregg's lunch on the way. In the office I had a good 40-minute discussion with PhD student B, who has just spent two weeks visiting a friend in Taiwan. After he left, I fixed the GPU bug and went home.
Since A was out rowing, I cooked a venison Bolognese and left it to walk Django. By then the weather had cleared, so we went through the Estate. I saw a heron on the Esk and, shortly after I took this, settled on the far side of the Low Pond.
I missed the first half of United's match since we were eating and, after half time, I went upstairs to watch the second half. Normally a team that's 2-0 up should be able to close out a game, but not United this season. From 4-2 down, the last 10 minutes of extra time were sensationally exciting!
