Experimenting

Hiding under the brown cloth is the tomb and the Easter Garden. The experiment is leaving it under the altar where it lives all year round and letting it be part of the Good Friday service today. Which I'm responsible for as well as playing for the hymns. 

Also means I'm going to have to experiment with altar linens tomorrow morning. 

I'm sure the assembled souls will give me feedback later... but in the absence of anyone else who can help with the lifting and carrying of things, I'm aiming to keep all of this as simple as possible whilst still giving the simplicity and bareness of Good Fridays past. 

Now home and waiting for the washing machine to finish so I can hang all the cloths that are having one of their occasional washes!! See, this is one of the best things, I think about completely stripping everything out for Good Friday - I can do a really easy thorough clean of the Sanctuary area in places where we don't often clean before the flower arrangers get in, then I can slip away until they've all finished and come back to sort the rest of it out.
