I DO have ephemerals now! These are in my yard. Looking at the non-blooming part of the plants, I have a sneaky suspicion that maybe they grew last year, but didn’t bloom, and I thought they were weeds, and …. Pulled them out?

But it was such a joy and surprise to see these. 

Did all my regular things today - exercised, applied for jobs, and worked on the business. 

I learned that someone I was very scared for will probably be ok. She worked for a contractor to USAID so she lost her job two months ago. [How has he done so much bad in such a short span of time?] She learned that her second son, like her first one and her husband, is neurodivergent. Translation:  expensive. Her children are extra expensive. Her husband is  justifiably scared he will lose his job. She was terrified of not having income and health insurance. She has gotten through three interviews with a company and they are now checking her references. 

Also great news - one of the men we illegally deported, with no due process, against a judicial order, to a prison with a horrendous reputation - and keep lying and saying he is a member of a gang while offering no evidence - who is a father in my state - has been moved to a less bad prison. Our senator went to El Salvador and pushed and poked and prodded until the President of El Salvador let him see Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia. He had to wear a hat so we couldn’t see that he’d been shaved, and the president staged it so it would look like they were having cocktails, but he is alive. And, as of today, he is transferred to a less bad prison. 


Ukraine repeled a major Russian assault in the Zaporizhzhya oblast. Ukrainian air reconnaissance detected them and Ukraine was able to use drone and artillery strikes. They destroyed 29 Russian combat vehicles and damaged three tanks. 

In Feb Ukraine used drones against a warehouse in Russia and destroyed expensive equipment worth millions. Russia had just moved the equipment to that warehouse as part of prep for another attack. Ukraine has released video of the attack and it shows the first drone flying through the doors of the warehouse, flying over the targeted armored vehicle, and going down to hit it. The video shows three more drones doing the same thing and then the warehouse going up in flames. It cost Russia millions and it cost Ukraine $5000. 

Ukrainian soldiers accidentally made an incredible archeological discovery. They were digging trenches. They found an ancient burial site dating back to the 6th or 5th century BCE. They found a jug that seemed to be very old. The type of jug is an, “amphora.” They sent it to the Staroflotski Kazarmy Museum in Mykolaiv who realized it was an Ancient Greek relic. Amphoras have pointed bottoms and fit tightly against each other in storage rooms.
