Back in Theddingworth again.
Back in Theddingworth again. A bit of mis-communication yesterday meant we didn't know who was picking up the keys for the rental. Mme MB had made good time by getting on an earlier Eurotunnel. So we didn't quite know what to do regarding meeting up. On the way up she was diverted off the M25 onto the M11 then the A14. A route she has never taken before. I suppose Good Friday traffic was heaving on the M1.
Still, at least she didn't have to travel all the way along the M25.
Once she had arrived in Market Harborough with the kids, she and our son had gone for a walk in Welland Park leaving our daughter and their phones in the car. So of course I couldn't get through to her as we headed for Theddingworth with my friend.
We ended up picking up the keys from the owner at their farm, then we saw Mme MB drive by as we exited the farm. So all was well.
Last night we went to a local convenience store in Husbands Bosworth to pick up food for the evening and then breakfast. We paid a fortune, but of course Mme MB couldn't face going back to Market Harborough and shopping at Aldi, after her long trip.
This morning we made it to Aldi and did a weeks shopping. Came to £163 - which my son tells me is around 185 euros. In France we can spend anywhere between 250 and 350 euros on a week of shopping. So we are scratching our heads trying to figure out how come it is cheaper over here. We also bought those things we like eating and can't really get in France. So we spoilt ourselves for not very much really.
In the afternoon Mme MB and me went off for a walk to the Grand Union canal, then at the next bridge which lead into a field, we crossed over the fields back to the rental. I guess we did over 3.5km.
During the walk I took this photo of Theddingworth church from quite a long distance. The zoom on my compact Lumix always amazes me.
Our feet hurt a bit from the uneven ground.
