Pink Cadillac

No flood defence works being undertaken this weekend and all the plant and machinery has been locked up in the various compounds scattered around our town.
Walking by the river at lunchtime, I couldn’t help but notice this particular crane - I’m pretty sure I’ve not seen one this colour before! I have no idea when (if?) these flood defences will be completed as every time I look at the various information boards the contractors have put up along the river, the “end date” seems to be different - i.e. later - every time!
This afternoon was spent going through the filing cabinet. I’d half filled a secure waste bag after sorting mum’s paperwork and now I’m working my way through all our files. Last did this during lockdown, five years ago, and it’s amazing how much has accumulated since then, despite me trying to do as much as possible online these days.
Thought long and hard about the files with my old school reports and annual job appraisals in them. Totally irrelevant to my life nowadays, but I’m not quite ready yet to get rid of my past entirely…
