Protest Rally and March
L and I decided to attend the Fort Worth protest march today. All over the US, a movement has arisen to protest the current government, and these rallies and marches were going on at the same time all over the country. We were surprised by the large turnout in a city like Fort Worth and a predominantly right wing state like Texas. I reckon around 3,000 turned up here for a few speakers, led by a local church pastor and then a fully sanctioned march through the downtown streets with police blocking all the roads so we could advance and chant, as you do! It felt good to do something and there was a great deal of camaraderie and it was entirely peaceful apart from the chanting. We also did well at BG as the gathering was right over the road from our downtown coffee house.
