Foreign Invasion

Do you see the foreigner lurking in the woods, slowly invading the landscape?

I found this stranger concealed in a shaded area of our local arboretum, hiding under two dying pines.

An English Yew, brought to New Jersey, U.S.A. from England, and planted secretly in a
deep recess where few would ever know.

Well...maybe not secretly. There was a marker identifying the species and explaining where it came from.

This is one of the things I will miss about living in Glen Rock. I discover new things every time I walk through the park.

I'm certain that there will be many things to explore in my new town, but I will never forget The Thielke Arboretum.

It's a sanctuary for the soul.
