Day 95. Glasgow Elvis.
Day 95 of my Gratitude/Walk/Photo Challenge.
Today, I am grateful for Glasgow.
Glasgow, the rough diamond, where gallousness and grit live alongside banter and kindness.
Where Boden dressed weans stroll with their well heeled, but possibly slightly stressed oot, parents through the park in glorious Easter sunshine, whilst wee neds neck their Bucky, and granny pushes an Irn Bru into grubby wee hands.
Where I arrived in 1986 as a scabby wee skelf with not an ounce of awareness of the life that lay ahead.
Where friendships were made, exams were sat, and a city was explored.
Where I was privileged to graduate as a vet.
Where culture and status hold hands with vibrance and intelligence. A city with character and humanity in every graffiti-marked corner.
I saw it all as I walked from the West End to my favourite place, the Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum via the Kelvingrove Park to visit Jesus and Elvis...
4 miles or so on my sunny walk in Glesga' today.
Fotie of Elvis.
