Lake Union Cormorant

This bird is located close to the LU Boatyard. I liked the silhouette, reflections and red ripples. They can dive to 20 feet as their feathers hold water. They adopt a “ wing drying pose”which helps them to drip dry plus providing other functions. It is believed that spirits of loved humans lost at sea take the form of cormorants to visit living relatives. NannaK (HCB)
