Walking above Greoux-les-Bains
Which is the town in Provence where we are staying. Walking along footpaths alongside a river , gradually up a hill, then across a plateau on the top, where barley was being grown. Limestone scenery and masses of wild flowers include orchids, euphorbia, rosemary and thyme, the last two providing wonderful scent. The scene above is of some particular kind of oak trees planted recently, which have a special property that means truffles grow amongst their roots. Dogs would be used to sniff them out. Not pigs.
The light is different, and absolutely beautiful. I keep think of Cezanne and Van Gogh
Apologies, I won’t have any time to look at other people’s journals til I get back, as we are busy the whole time:) I’ll catch up when I get home
