Big tyres
A good day in Tobermory with CP, plenty of chat, a sell out tombola, and some great food for sale. I have never had a burger with all extras before. Glengorm, a local estate sell their own meat, also making pies and burgers. Extras included a thin slice of cheese, a well made coleslaw and ‘just right heat’ chilli jam. They have sold these for many years, the roll was just right, not too much dough, soft but not claggy. And for our evening meal, we are really living it up today, I bought a kedgeree with smoked haddock and a vegan version from The Spicy Sprout. She lives in the village and makes interesting meals, cakes and yes, we had a spinach and potato roll, as in sausage roll shape, we had two cut in half between the four of us at 11.00. It was a cold and windy spot, food and hot drinks are essential. A most enjoyable day although we both felt tired this afternoon.
The vehicle in todays bf was in the carpark next to the market, I thought of Snaefell and her splendid looking vehicle. I have motorhome envy at times, and sincerely wish our neighbours a happy time away this week. I don’t like the word envy and have rarely felt it in my life, there is that annoying expression ‘it is what it is’ except for me when it comes to travelling around in a van. We have had a home on our backs on and off since 1974, including a demountable caravan on the back of a transit pickup, the demountable became a real home for four years when building a house in Cumbria. In a small area we could cook, eat, sleep and shower in reasonable comfort. And of course home a cat and her four kittens.
