I thought my neighbour's cats were having a mad half hour last night, but they were really going for it.  Loud bashing and thumping went on and on, and in the end I couldn't sleep.  My cold hasn't gone away entirely – or this is a completely new cold – so I was glad to get up for a bit.  But back in bed the bashing was carrying on here and there.  Then a fire engine arrived!  By now I was up, and it went away again.  And then an ambulance arrived!

That wasn't cats.  That was a bathroom door being broken down to rescue my elderly neighbour. :-(  She had a bad fall and is now in hospital.

I'd barely finished breakfast when Friend in Need phoned, very much in need.  I helped as much as I could, which wasn't much beyond listening and asking encouraging questions.

Since then I've been half asleep and done not a lot.  I read my Siberia book for quite a long time, did some more artwork on the computer, and had a wee wander where I spotted another old GPO telecoms utility cover.  Then it rained so I made tea.

I'm supposed to be going to a conference tomorrow and I only half feel like going.
