goodbye friend

My dear friend, Yolanda, passed away this weekend.  All sorts of birthday parties for her were being planned for June. She was so looking forward to them because she would have been 100-years old. It should have been expected to happen sooner rather than later, after all she was 99. But it was still a shock to the system because she died within a couple of hours after complaining of difficulty breathing. She was otherwise so healthy and proud of the fact that she only took one pill and was still driving around town. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

The flowers were a gift from neighbor across the street who saw how upset I was. Another kind and generous person.

Sad that the Pope passed away today, too.  He was a remarkable man.
