Temuka Silos

The Construction of these silos were completed in1921, at a cost of 52000 pounds. The purpose to store 3thousand ton of graine. The unfortunate thing was that there was and error with the concrete and it took 45 years before the concrete hardened / dried. Until then moisture would sweat on the inside of the silo. It now is a spectacular canvas for paintings of famous Locals. Above Big Norman Kirk, birthplace Waimate.
