Windswept
I noticed yesterday that the echium candicans in the holiday centre was flowering, so I went back today to see if I could catch any butterflies. It was excessively windy, but that actually helped as this swallowtail clung desperately to the flower spike. Another view in extras as it flattened itself against the gusts.
After lunch we went to the local animal refuge, finally, to enquire about adopting a cat. I've actually never been to a refuge, as cats have always found me when needed, but this doesn't seem to be happening and it's been nearly a year. S is very insistent that it has to be a kitten, so that we can mould it to our ways (ha!). Currently there are none available -- but only because they are too small. So we'll try again in a few weeks. In the meantime we made a plan for a visit to the UK.
