Knitting poppies

I had heard about AllSaints church in  Kingston wanting to do a big poppy display in November and they were asking for volunteers to knit or crochet or make poppies from fabric. I went along to the initial meeting this morning and decided I would make some as I have made this type before and can do them while watching TV and no rush! Coincidentally on the news tonight there was an item about some of the ceramic poppies being back on display at the Tower of London for VE Day…I actually knew about this and plan to go there on 8th May. I helped to ‘plant’  and ‘pick’ the poppies there back in 2014.

I visited a friend today who fractured her pelvis skiing back in February but is now OK to go back to work tomorrow. She had made some lovely cinnnamon cup cakes which we had with coffee sitting in the sun in her garden!
