A Day At The Zoo

They had an INSET day at Kate and Sophie’s school today so, while Kate was being “INSET-ed”, we had a day at the Bristol Zoo Project’s Wild Place, just off the M5.

The focus is on conservation so most of the animals are somewhere on the endangered list and are housed in natural, spacious enclosures.


It was great to have a day in Sophie’s company who, like me, loves animals and we thoroughly enjoyed our wander around and a first picnic of the year.

I was particularly taken with the Gelada, a monkey native to Ethiopia, in the main blip, who was rocking the 70s pop star mullet.
