Clematis

Another annual garden flower blip.  Now the holidays are over soon I'll be out doing things and taking more exciting photos.

Going to bed later did mean I slept better but I also slept longer.  Didn't wake till 6.31.  I could have gone to the pool but decided to stay in my warm bed.

It was a sunny morning so I stripped my bed and got set to do 2 loads of laundry.  Then a meeting with K, on line of course.  It went on longer than planned, because we digressed so much.

While the washing was on I cut the grass, swept the path after yesterday's hosing down and treated it, again, with Algon.  The early sun had been replaced by some cloud but it was still dry when I hung out the washing.

After lunch I planted some more seeds ad then moves to the front.  That took a lot more work than I'd anticipated. The lavender isn't doing well, might have reached the end of its life.  There was also quite a lot of couch grass and the rampant eau de cologne thyme.  I hauled out loads of it as well as some weeds.  While I was doing that F went past with baby Conor in his pram and we had a good chat.  She is doing really well after the op.

I finished by digging up some of the self seeded primroses so I could move them round the back and tried to tease out the roots of the wee rhododendron which seemed to have seized up in the clay.

It was a beautiful end to the day as the sun had returned  so I was back to the back.  The lily of the valley has also gone rampant so I potted up soe in the hope it will flower on 1 May.  I need to tame it though, as well as the Spanish bluebells.

Managed to have a wee seat in the sun with my sewing before it was inside to eat, sew, watch tv (last night's University Challenge, half of the 'Only Connect' final and WDYTYA) and make the bed.

Having half listened to 'What's Up Doc' about sleep I know not to worry if I wake up at 4!
