Trixie's Adventures

Still on track!

Today we did our 40th 'I Walk Cornwall' walk which means that we are still on track to complete 100 walks by the end of the year. Yay!

We walked from Porthtowan to Chapel Porth along the coast path and then came back via the valleys which was almost 5 miles. It was a lovely walk, but as is the case with most of our walks............. we hardly ever see anyone else walking. We think people drive to the beach and then just spend their time there, or they go into the cafes/pubs.

Ann walked the whole of the 'South West Coast Path' with 'MollyCollie' (you can read about it here) between 2010 – 2012, but what's good about the 'I Walk Cornwall' walks, is that most of them are circular, so we tend to walk along some of the coast path and then turn inland and walk back via fields/valleys/woods etc. Oh, and Ann says that the coast path is a lot harder than what it was 15 years ago and we haven't even done any of the 'strenuous' walks yet?! Oh well, ho hum, I guess none of us is getting any younger. Lol!!

This afternoon Ann's 'Dippers & Swimmers' group were going swimming at 3.30pm and while we were walking she thought a dip afterwards would be quite nice and that would also incorporate another walk for me. Mmmmmmm............ best laid plans and all that. By 3.30pm it felt quite cold so we didn't bother. #lazyhuman  Obviously I still got taken out again.

Ann's target is to walk at least 10 'I Walk Cornwall' walks a month, but she's got to fit them all into the three days a week when she doesn't work which is actually harder than you would think. Tomorrow she's going to the 'Ugly Butterfly' for a fishy taster lunch and on Friday our weather app is telling us it's going to rain all day. On Sat she'll be back at work for four days, so I'm guessing we won't be completing anymore of our challenge until at least next Wednesday???

That's the good thing about a challenge though isn't it?...................... A challenge isn't a challenge unless it's challenging!!!
