Living my dream

Bloooo

We have a second day of blue sky. Despite the +0.5C start which froze my fingers, I welcome the clear sky and sunshine once it pops up over the horizon (well, from behind the trees in my case).

It was cold enough to warrant the heater in the truck being on the timer to warm things up in time for our arrival in there for coffee and a bowl of breakfast at 6 o'clock (one of those was for me, the other for Bean).

And it was cold enough to form a thin layer of ice on the car windscreen which needed scraping off before we headed up the hill to spend the morning in G's garden.

You may remember this Blip of two Farmhouse Blue cheeses a couple of months apart in age. I have just cut the older of the two, and wow! It looks good and tastes great. It is so good that I suspect I won't be sharing it.

The Orkney and the Farmhouse Blue are my best cheeses yet.

I had fresh sourdough, my butter and blue cheese with an apple for lunch. Who could ask for anything more?

And this afternoon I have made eight jars of strawberry jam: the 'sludge' of which will go onto my breakfast toast tomorrow. I am looking forward to getting up already...
