Amsterdam day 3
Today is my birthday and I'd planned to visit Keukenhof, the tulip festival in Holland as I've wanted to visit for years and the Easter holidays fell at the perfect time.
One word: Wow!
I had the best time. This is the best garden that I've ever visited. The flowers were absolutely stunning. I took over 200 photos so it's been difficult to narrow it down to just a few of my favourites for blip. There weren't only tulips but every spring flower you can think of. The colours were just beautiful. If you like flowers but haven't visited before, go next year.
We caught the Metro from Amsterdam station to RAI and then an organised coach from there which took about 40 minutes. The coach back was really well organised too and there was a constant stream of coaches to return visitors.
We spent nearly the whole day here as there is so much to see. In the afternoon, we spent about 2 hours cycling around the outskirts of Keukenhof on signposted cycle routes looking at the tulip fields. Most of it is on cycle paths and felt safe.
Poor Chris must have been bored stiff as he's not a lover of flowers or gardens but he didn't complain once. Thank you for an amazing day. It really was the best birthday treat.
