Meringues

Today has been productive day. I prepared the bread first thing in readiness for tonight's bake. I then went down to the club to play singles with Alain. I won more easily than the last time I played which is good preparation for Saturday's tournament, weather permitting. I decided in the afternoon to try to make meringues in the new oven and they seem to have turned out well but they have not yet had the taste test. I like them to be gooey in the middle. I had four eggs left over so decided to make some custard. I toyed with the idea of converting it to ice cream or into egg custards but decided that would be more time-consuming. I have a cake mix to put into the oven this evening as we have run out of cake. It will just have to do until Mrs TT or I get a chance to make a proper one.
Edit: I changed the photo as I thought the meringue looked better with some nice strawberries next to it. I can also report that it was gooey in the middle!
