Tiny cog, big issue

I decided that it wasn’t wise to have any sort of uncertainty where steering and airbags are concerned so I took it all apart ( again ), airbag and all.

I had to strip the whole unit into the parts you can see before I found the issue. There is a white ring on the right hand side, if you look closely you’ll see a tiny cog.. that had moved, throwing the whole thing into disarray. It was quite safe for the short term in spite of the clicking and clacking, but I’m glad I sorted it. Figuring it out took both of my brain cells and working out how it all went back together was quite a job.

All back in the car, steering with no clicking, all the switches work and there is no fault on the airbag.
