Arty Gromit

Day 1 of our Bristol extravaganza!

I hadn't realised tht Bristol was only 2 hours away by train - I might have visited sooner. To be honest it was Gromit Unleashed that had brought us here. Once we'd checked into the hotel, we had a quick lunch stop at the Arnolfini, before setting off exploring Bristol and collecting Gromits on the way. This one was outside the Arnolfini (Centre for Contemporary Arts). It's called Zodiac and the artist is by Inkie, who is a street artist originally from Bristol.

We then went to MShed as I wanted to go and see the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2012 exhibition. A fantastic electic exhibition of portraiture.

While we were there we got to see The Matthew sail(?) along the habourside. This is a replica of the ship that John Cabot sailed in to Newfoundland about 500 years ago.

After a trip to see the Cutty Sark, and a visit to several ships in Portsmouth this year, we've rounded off with the S S Great Britain today. I think I'm now officially shipped out!!

Our meal out tonight was to a Nepalese/Indian restaurant - Namaste Nepal - where we each had a Dal Bhat - one veggie and one meat - selection of Nepalese food. Lovely!
