The Attraction of Home

I often feel a bit unsettled in a restless way at this time of year. The prospect of setting out on new adventures beckons. I think about Bilbo Baggins leaving the Shire to embark on an epic adventure, Laurie Lee setting out on his quest in As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning and the travels of Odysseus on his journey back from the Trojan War in Homer’s Odyssey. Trouble is life at home can be too comfortable at times with so many interesting and beautiful places to enjoy nearby. This is Saltram Park Plymouth this morning.
