Mystic, Connecticut

We left our apartment in Chatham, Massachusetts this morning. Drove for a short while and stopped at a diner for breakfast.  I had a waffle with maple syrup and bacon.  Then we carried on driving towards Mystic in Connecticut via Rhode Island. We stopped off at a supermarket to buy picnic food and ate it in Colt Park in Hartford.

Our Airbnb accommodation in Mystic is a whole house.  It's lovely inside..... very roomy with lots of lovely old furniture, paintings etc.  I've added an extra collage. 

In the evening we went out to The Engine Room - a local bar/restaurant.  I chose from the kids menu..... Chicken tenders and chips. Quite sufficient for me as the adult meals were huge.

Main blip shot was taken on our evening walk.  The statue is of John J Kelly. He was a great runner and as well as being an Olympian he took part in 32 Boston Marathons and was the winner in 1957

My other Extra shows a couple of views of the Mystic River as well as a lovely metal fish sculpture. 

Our accommodation isn't far from Mystic Pizza.  I've added an Extra of the fish tank in their window.  This pizza shop is famous for being the inspiration for the film Mystic Pizza.

Weather today was lovely again.  Dry and sunny. However it's due to be foggy and rainy tomorrow so we have some indoor activities planned.
