Lovely Spring day walk…
along the river, noisy with the constant song of Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, Tits, Redpoll,Chaffinches and a shy but beautiful Mistle Thrush. There were Peacock and Orangetip butterflies. Despite there being very few Cuckoo Flowers , the Orangetip, all males, seemed happy with the Violets. There were lots of them , Wood Anemones, Wood Sorrel and Stitchwort. There were lovely fragrances too, Whin, Broom and something I had never realised was perfumed before, the catkins on the scrub Birch. Its orange clumps were everywhere. A great day!
