Rothbury in spring

Bathroom Chris didn’t arrive till after 10 as he had to go to help his wife get one of her cows back off the road and into the field. Then he carried on with the tiling.

Mr C got on with work in the garden and I started prep for tomorrow night when we’ll be entertaining 6 friends who had kindly had us for meals when our house was more of a mess than currently. Of course when I invited them I expected to have the bathroom finished and the conservatory clear ofChris’s stuff. I’ve made the soup but it has too much coconut milk. I’ve added more tomato and harissa but it’s not too nice. Then I googled how much uncooked rice I’d need to make 250g when it was cooked. I ended up with half the amount I needed for the veggie bake so had to do more. I had similar issues with the base for my cheesecake and had to double the amount. Not my day! Of course standing on the sore knee didn’t help.

We started watching Heimut. It’s over 40 years old and so clever and funny. I don’t know how we missed it in 1984. Phil got the first series on DVD for £20. If we like it we’ll try for more.
