Indian Rhubarb

Darmera peltata or the umbrella plant - a giant member of the saxifrage family growing beside Strichen lake. The plant, despite the name, is a native of the western USA where it grows beside woodland streams. At present there are no leaves which gives the flowers a rather eerie appearance.  When they appear the leaves resemble gigantic coltsfoot leaves.
