Hollamoor woods

One of the most beautiful windless spring mornings I have recently had the privilege of absorbing. A warm fresh mist hovered above a carpet of vibrant grass green, bluebell blue, wild garlic white, dandelion and gorse bush yellow interspersed with a plethora of early orchid “purpleness”.
Birdsong echoed loudly my sentiments from every direction as Dippy and I both drifted in a drunken haze in seemingly slow motion across fields and through woodland. This early mornings quietness unusually evident due to the lack of Saturday traffic movement.
Back to Amadeus and our hunger satisfied before receiving a phone call from a jubilant client who had just completed an outstanding performance (well deserved) in her first European duathlon championships in Poland.
Some heartwarming meet ups with friends around the area, a really enjoyable time in Torrington and its surroundings.
A visit to my fisherman friend Martin who needed motivating to crack on with the anti fouling of his fishing boat.
I chalked up another first since moving here in 1999 as I travelled across the estuary to Instow on the famous ferry and returned after bumping into and chatting friends I hadn’t met for quite some time.
A gentle stroll around the little town before relaxing (collapsing) on a crowded bench with Michelin star chips and a sausage for Dippy. A view across the Torridge estuary which takes some beating on Appledore quay at high tide, especially watching young protégés (and their child like parents) in early season training for the world crab championships later this year.
I popped into a virtually empty Sainsbury’s supermarket to buy butter and dog food for my best friend before returning to our tiny home at the top of the hill.
Zzzzz
