Good Friday
(27.4.25)
I enjoyed my hot cross bun breakfast today! In years past, my Dad went out early to buy buns and then delivered them to his three daughters. We miss that so much!
Now that Friday is a working day, it is easier to contemplate going to church with the hope of finding a place to leave the car. I have to admit I struggled to concentrate for the two and a half hour service, which had seven different speakers, but I am glad I accompanied G. We raced back for a Zoom call with my sisters. It was SweetArt’s birthday on Wednesday. Linking up with the time difference between the three of us is a big challenge. We enjoyed our time together so much, we’re hoping to link up again in early May.
G put on the DVD of The Robe in the evening—a movie she always watches on Good Friday. My picture of the tree in the garden, taken at ground level, symbolises the weekend. I had wanted to take a picture of the Ethiopians as they left their service. There was a sea of people robed in white everywhere you looked, but it didn’t feel right to take a picture without asking them first.
