Life in Sunny Dubai

Looking fine

G found out yesterday that her school won't open again until Monday, so she was at home, busying herself with stuff. I had a good and productive day in the office with few distractions. I'm so glad Diane visited yesterday, as my room looks good (having been tidied up in a hurry).

We went out in the early evening to check the car out. All good there. I am so thankful for the way our buildings were designed - some forty years ago. We are over two feet higher than the main road, and then the buildings are a foot higher than that. It has meant we've had little disruption or worry. A friend from Sharjah said the water there hasn't been pumped out yet, so nothing much is happening there.

It was great to see that Al Seef has weathered the storm well. It was dry everywhere, and the buildings all looked intact. There were even tourists milling about. We called in at Wafi to get a few groceries and saw a couple of stranded cars being towed away. Home for the rest of the evening.
