If you can't beat them...

Blue Tit ( Cyanistes caeruleus )

A lzy blip but it makes a change from flowers.  This Blue Tit  was posing on top of the feeders so I took my usual "just in case" shots.  Then took no more during the rest of the day.

It is probably that it has a nest somewhere.  Until recently it was regularly seen as one of a pair, well two anyway.  The problem with BT is that unlike Great Tits you can't tell male from female unless you have them in your hand.  An adult BT will weight 10-11g which is around the weight of two sheets of A4 paper.  It is therefore amazing that ringing recoveries of UK birds have been found as far away as central Germany,  however recoveries in Norway are more amazing 10g flying across the North Sea.

Some more small jobs done in the garden despite it being heavily overcast cool and at times had a dampness in the air.

For my records the first House Martin seen near our HM nest boxes.
