Planning the attack

V is in full on planning mode for his big birthday weekend.  This morning we walked the course and I hope smoothed a few bumps in the road.

I slept badly last night so ended up in the spare room listening to the audio book of Sapiens which did drift me back to sleep.

Nice leisurely start to the day,  went over to Midhurst for Pilates which was good to do again.  After that I spent most of the day in the garden, planting and weeding and trying in the words of one garden writer, ‘to outrun spring’.  It is of course hopeless.  Currently worried that the garden will be in one of its lulls, with the spring flowers largely faded and the roses still in bud.

Cooked a fish curry from Nigel Slater’s Appetite, still one of the great cookbooks,

Watched an episode of a crime show called I, Jack Wright on UKTV which is clearly going to be addictive.
