For the family

By RonaMac

Action packed

The morning started with a seat on the settee watching the London Marathon. B used to do long distance running fifty plus years ago and we have fond memories of Sunday morning training sessions when we lived in the Moray Firth area of Scotland. I would load up the car with R in her baby seat, refreshments, a map and planned route. We would be the mobile refreshment station, safety marshal, first aider and cheerleader at the end.

Reflecting on R’s recent activities, I realise that her training started early.

We then headed for Ashbourne in Derbyshire to the Open Day. We’ve only been once before and were amazed at how busy it was. I think that it was due to the beautiful weather. Lots of people had their dogs with them, but we left Amber at home. A good move as she wouldn’t have coped with the crowds. They have lots of volunteers and the cafe was busy. I resisted the temptation to look at all the stuff on sale. I’m at a stage of decluttering not acquiring more stuff. We sponsor two of the pens as we cannot have a cat in the house these days as we have Amber.

Dinner was in the crockpot simmering nicely when we got home, just time to give the garden a good water before we sat down to eat. We haven’t had any rain this past week and non forecast for next.

As we prepared to settle for the night we had a message to say that R had arrived home. We will see her tomorrow.
