Monday Mutterings
It’s always good to have something enjoyable to do on a Monday at the start of the week. Today it was Ivy on the Square time with my school friend when we keep up with current affairs while dining like pensioners on toast and coffee. That is not to say we didn’t this morning cast lingering looks at the young couple at the next table sticking in to a full English breakfast with smoothies, croissants, toast and a large plateful of fried naughties- the whole caboodle. Our Greek waiter who slips us extra toast without being asked was missing this morning and so it was a very frugal meal with only the usual second coffee on the house.
It may be slightly warmer outside today but the stone built Dower House likes to maintain a considerably lower inside temperature particularly if there is no sunshine beaming in. Unfortunately the sun failed to deliver on that side of things and I have put on an extra layer of clothing to compensate.
I liked the floral display in the entrance to the Ivy and this view through a gate to what is called the Rose Street Garden. I’m not sure where the entrance is as the gate looked firmly shut and there were no customers.
