Heatwave

It was quite crowded at the beach this morning. The warm weather had encouraged the extra early Sunflowers to hang about after their dip so that when the BlueTits arrived for their 7:50 swim it was difficult to find a bit of the groyne sporting a hook on which to hang our coats such was the press of ladies enjoying a chat in the warmth.

We were in the water longer than usual which meant a later bus back into town. I had hoped that that would be a quieter one but I was wrong. I’m sure the other passengers wondered what planet I came from wearing a big warm coat,bunnet and gloves while they were minimally dressed in shirts and dresses. It’s interesting to see how quickly people adapt to changes in the weather.

It’s now lounging on the patio time with my book . My swimming clobber is drying nicely the sun and I’m just wondering if I can squeeze in a very early dip tomorrow before the weather goes downhill. I’ll see how I feel at 6:00 am tomorrow. Things never look quite so rosy and positive at that hour.
