Feels like summer today. 22C and glorious sunshine
We took ourselves off early this morning to drive the 6 miles to Lichfield. It was surprisingly quiet being a Monday and schools now reopened after the Easter break. The car park near the Cathedral had lots of spaces.
(I’ve put a couple of photos in extras.)
The main one is of the Tea Room situated opposite the Cathedral.
It has a lovely garden area, as well as a small conservatory. Its main rooms are beautifully presented. The other photo is me I’m sorry!, I was so pleased to be able to wear my shorts today and feel like I was as on holiday somewhere warm, that I got Stephen to take the photo! And Blipper yeeeeed said yesterday on my blip there is nothing like having warmth on your skin. I quite agree! .
It has been 22C here this afternoon.
A marker for me after having had both hips done in just 6 months since last November. Standing without my crutch.
We did the walk round Stowe Pool, which is just over a mile, before going to the tea rooms for a bacon sandwich and coffee each. Only the two of us in the lovely room with the beautiful outlook, which is in the main photo.
Other people were sitting in the small courtyard garden, but it has tables with wooden bench seats attached and I can’t quite manage those yet.
The second extra is the Minster Pool with the view of the Cathedral.
Lots of people sitting on surrounding benches just enjoying the view and the sunshine.
Since coming home we’ve sat in the garden under the patio umbrella. I’ve been reading.
Stephen is now doing the annual job of wood staining the summerhouse. It will dry in no time.
The borders will need watering again this evening.
As it is gradually becoming a little cooler I am going to get myself changed again.
Tomorrow looks like being even warmer!
Looking forward to that!
