Nicky and her Nikon

4500 blips

Xena was walked by Fiona earlier today so I did not walk her this morning, and instead took an earlier train to London. I was hoping to see the surgeon as he is usually there in the morning but today he is coming in the late afternoon.

Gavin had a better day. He still spikes a temperature every few hours and so they did another CT scan and blood tests as they cannot find the source of a possible infection. He had his PICC line removed as they were worried that could be causing an infection - and then later today after I left they re-inserted another one to be able to give him nutrients as he is still nil by mouth. Until they rule out any infection he cannot eat.

He had some physio today and took a short walk down the corridor with the physiotherapist. He needs to do these gentle  exercises more regularly to build strength back.

When I got home I took Xena for a walk at a local woods that has a good display of wild garlic every year. I took many photos but have not had a chance to look at them yet, I just picked one for blip. I believe that today is my 4500th blip, that snuck up on me - Blipfoto is a wonderful community as has been shown to me over these past 10 days with such warm support from you at a time when my world has been turned upside down.

Tonight I have to hand in many prints at the camera club meeting - two that were requested for a Surrey/Sussex competition, two for our final print competition of the year, and six for our annual exhibition review (only three or possibly four will be selected for the exhibition). I was going to drop them off at another member’s house to take in for me, but I have not been able to do that so I may as well go along tonight and hand them in myself. It will also be worthwhile to hear the judges comments on my two entries for the final print competition. I hope I stay awake as I had a very disturbed nights sleep and am very tired.
