Portmeirion

This morning Julian took me (and Django) to a walk he did on his previous visit to this area, in an ancient temperate rainforest (first extra). We walked up to the dam of Llyn Trawsfynydd and back through the Ceunant Llennyrch National Nature Reserve. It was beautiful, very green, mossy, and full of birdsong, but Julian commented that it was too dry and when it first saw it, the moss was far more vivid.
In the afternoon we went to visit Portmeirion, which is 15 minutes' walk from our cottage. Sometimes described as a folly village, it's the brain child of the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. I found it quite extraordinary and rather puzzling. I can see why it has been used as a film location.
