North Berwick Law
We had a quiet and slow start to the day, mainly as a result of our broken night. There were chores to be done, and I eventually got myself into town where I bought a birthday gift, and looked forward another gift.
When I got back home I thought we were taking BB to North Berwick for the rugby 7s tournament. Turns out he got a lift from a friend,.
That meant that we could get there in slightly slower time. We got there in time for their first game, which they won convincingly. There was a big gap until their next game so we headed into North Berwick for some lunch. The cafes we tried were too busy, so we ended up just buying sandwiches and eating them in the car.
I was glad I had worn multiple layers, as one minute it was freezing, the next it was almost pleasant in the sunshine. BB’s team continued to play well and made it to the final, not bad given they were all out late last night! BB scored a few tries, including a hat trick in one of their games. They were beaten in the final, but they put up a good fight against a team which is four leagues higher than BB’s team.
We brought him home after we had picked up provisions for tea. His body was aching, and he was in quite a lot of discomfort all evening. Thank goodness for pain killers.
They played in the shadow of North Berwick Law. It was rather cloudy here for their first game, and the weather did not look very promising. It did brighten up later, but I didn’t take any pictures. BB is number 11.
