A happy reunion with Rhea, Clare and Soo

It is almost nine years since Mr hazelh and I last sat down for a meal with Rhea, Clare, and Soo. It's quite difficult to find opportunities  for us to get together given that Rhea and Clare live (currently somewhat reluctantly) in the US, Soo splits her time between Rutland and Northumberland, and we are based in Edinburgh. We all first met at Baile-na-Cille on the Isle of Lewis many, many years ago. 

Our long overdue reunion took place at the Scotsman for lunch today. We kicked off lunch with Champagne and cheers. In my shot are Mr hazelh, Rhea and Clare, and the hand of Soo. Although we only ate one course, we chatted at our table for almost 3 hours. There was so much catching up to do. Added to this, nobody really wanted to make the first move to leave, all conscious that it could be some time before we all meet together again.

Our lunch out with our friends was sandwiched between a morning of hosting breakfast for our overnight guests, domesticity, and exercise, and an afternoon of catching up on personal and work admin. 

This evening we watched last night's episode of University Challenge. We are looking forward to the final next Monday.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike, 5.5k run, walking (16,956 steps including run).
