Garden makeover reminiscences

Towards the end of a beautiful very warm day, Paddy and Caitlin came over for a barbecue in the back garden that they created for (and with) us in 2020/21. This is the kind of evening that we looked forward to on those busy days of earth moving, concrete mixing, soil sifting, compost burying, lawn levelling, edge curving, pond moving etc. In my blip, Paddy and Caitlin are looking at old photos of all this hard work. After our meal outside, we moved into the kitchen for a game of Catan that Caitlin won.

Mr hazelh and I are going away for a long weekend. Given that my entire Thursday is taken up with travelling back and forth to Newcastle and that I'll be at the gym on Friday morning, I needed to pack this afternoon. Also today I have been in correspondence with the journalist at The conversation about the article that (I hope) will be published next week, and helping a former colleague with a tricky issue.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; aquafit class; swim (20 lengths); strength training; walking (~12k steps).
