Mom and baby

At Montezuma again to check on the great horned owls - and once again to my surprise  we have Mom and Baby ! It was an amazing day though we missed the white pelicans who did not make an appearance. Got some  great shots of great blue herons ( lost count at 55 of them and did n't go over to the rookery.)  There were lots of yellowlegs of both greater and lesser ilk, and I did get a new lifer - a pectoral sandpiper . I must admit I mis id'd as a dunlin. A greater yellowlegs and sandpiper in extras.
